The retrolink controller is a teeny bit larger in height than the original snes controller, which makes a small differences, but I noticed that it seems like there's a bit of height change from the board to the buttons, making the travel time a bit longer than on the original snes controller.I recommend using an existing configuration as reference (for button names etc).May this be the cause of when clicking up it may interact with the left/right because it isn't a perfect fit and may move a bit when putting it all back together? The rubber pad for the dpad is rounded on the original SNES controller while on the retrolink is more rectangular, it fits perfectly into the circular hole on the original.I would love to see a replacement board that would fit the original shoulder pads in for the smoother feeling (if anyone knows where to find those boards alone). The shoulder buttons are buttons on the retrolink controller while on the original SNES controller it's the same style as the other buttons (rubber pad against a board), which is why the shoulder buttons click when pressed on the retrolink controllers.While at it I compared the inside to a (european) SNES controller and three major differences I can see from them are: The dpad can still be a bit difficult (since it sometimes thinks I press in an angle), but it's not as bad as it used to be.Īfter cleaning them they now react as expected to mashing and they feel a lot better when playing.
